Dr. Frances Hughes was previously an advisor in Franklin College from 2011-2016, before leaving to manage a small nonprofit organization. She previously advised Intended Terry students. She returned to Franklin in 2021 as the lead advisor in the Department of Psychology. In May 2026, she moved in to the role of managing and coordinating the Franklin College Social and Behavioral Sciences Division, which consists of Atmospheric Sciences, Anthropology, Cognitive Science, Communication Studies, Criminal Justice, Geography, Psychology, and Sociology. She holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Idaho; a master's in Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University; and a Ph.D. from Idaho State in Counselor Education and Counseling. Outside of the advising office Frances enjoys photography, biking, hiking, and playing board games with her college-age son.
