Application Deadlines & Details Graduating with a double major: You will need to complete a separate graduation application for each major and certificate you wish to graduate with. (Minors do not require a graduation application.) You should contact each of your graduation advisors to verify requirements for each major. Will I be graduating with honors? Graduating seniors will be recommended for graduation with honors on the basis of their overall grade point average for all college-level work attempted. Honors designations are: Summa cum laude: 3.90 Magna cum laude: 3.75 Cum laude: 3.60 Commencement Commencement ceremonies are held at the end of Spring and Fall semesters. Summer graduates participate in the spring (May) commencement ceremony. Commencement details are handled by the Registrar’s Office. Some Franklin College departments have additional ceremonies or receptions for their graduating students. Please visit Franklin College Departmental Graduation Ceremonies or contact your department directly for more information. Will my name appear in the commencement program? Your name is scheduled to appear in the commencement program for the term you have applied to graduate unless you have placed a FERPA restriction on your information. FERPA is a federal law designed to protect the privacy of students' education records. FERPA authorizes the release of “Directory Information” without a student’s prior written consent under certain conditions set forth in the Act. Directory information includes student’s name, address, phone number, email, major/fields of study, dates of attendance, and degrees and awards received. Students who wish to restrict access to their directory information may do so, but this restriction may prevent a student's name from being included in the Commencement program. View more information regarding your diploma. Diplomas are NOT given out at the commencement ceremony. Questions?
