Our dedicated team provides academic advising, transfer student support, and
graduation advising to all Franklin College undergraduate majors. OSAS
supports student success in Franklin College by providing holistic,
developmental academic advising and coordinating key academic support
initiatives that help students navigate their undergraduate journey from entry
to graduation. Advisors work with students to create and regularly update
clear academic plans, monitor progress toward degree requirements, and
address barriers to timely completion through early intervention, structured
check-ins, and targeted referrals. OSAS uses data-informed practices, such as
degree audits, milestone monitoring, and outreach to students at risk of delay,
to promote persistence and informed decision-making. The office also
collaborates with faculty, departments, and campus partners to align advising
with curricular requirements, maintain clear pathways for majors, and
support key transitions such as major changes, transfer credit integration, and
final-year graduation planning, ensuring students have the guidance and
resources needed to complete their degrees efficiently and successfully.

Through a combined first-year and divisional advising model, data-informed
practices, and coordinated efforts related to scholarships, internships, and
student success initiatives, OSAS works to create clear pathways, meaningful
advising relationships, and an integrated academic experience that promotes
achievement, engagement, and long-term educational goals. Advising in OSAS
is proactive, student-centered, and grounded in consistent mentoring
relationships that emphasize goal setting, academic skill development, and
informed decision-making. Advisors use structured milestones, early alerts,
and targeted outreach to support students through key transition points and
challenges, while empowering them to take increasing ownership of their
academic plans. OSAS also serves as a central hub for transfer students,
providing pre- and post-transfer advising, credit evaluation guidance,
orientation support, and continued advising through the completion of their
degrees, ensuring that transfer students experience clear pathways, efficient
degree progress, and a strong sense of connection within Franklin College.
