Welcome to Franklin First Advising!

Franklin First Advising was created to help students during their pivotal first year transition into college. Our primary objectives as first-year advisors are:

• Help students navigate the fundamental academic resources at UGA (Degreeworks, the Bulletin, etc...) so they are able to understand their own degree requirements.
• Aid students in exploration of the many academic possibilities at UGA, to ensure they can build the best combination of majors/minors/certificate programs to achieve their professional and personal goals.
• Act as a first-line referral service for all questions. While we are not trained in Financial Aid or Accessibility (for instance), we can provide students with the correct referral for any question. 
• Ease the transition to college by attending to student development in terms of individuation, self-care, student involvement, time management, etc... While we are not professional licensed counselors, we can refer students appropriately to resources to help them be successful. 

All Franklin First advisors advise all Franklin majors (except for Music, Art, Theatre and Film). You are welcome to visit any advisor during drop-ins, regardless of major.
