Photo: Senior Director of the Franklin Office of Student Academic Services Contact Info Office: 346-B Brooks Hall Phone Number: 706-542-1412 Team Status: Office of Student Academic Services Angela Bowlus, Ed.D., joined Franklin College in September, 2025, and serves as the Senior Director of the Office of Student Academic Services, supporting a successful student journey through advising, transfer, and graduation for all Franklin College students. Prior to joining Franklin College, Angela lived and worked in Minnesota, though still claims Southern California, where she was born and grew up, as her weather barometer. Angela received her B.A. in History and M.A. in East Asian Studies from the University of Minnesota, and her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Minnesota State University Moorhead. She brings more than 25 years of academic leadership in academic and student affairs, serving at both public and private institutions, with highlighted achievements in academic advising, assessment, strategic planning, training and professional development, curriculum development, and operations management. An active member of NACADA, she serves as faculty and chair of the Assessment Institute, sits on the NACADA Review Editorial Board, and is involved with NACADA’s Consulting Services. Her research includes understanding the role of narrative theory in the reinstatement from suspension process, alleviating vulnerability for students in academic processes, improving retention and graduation through degree planning, developing a trauma-informed advising model, and improving student success and retention through personalized faculty communications.
