Mike has been an advisor at UGA since 2008, and an advising manager 2015. He holds BA degrees in English and Philosophy, an MA in English, and a Ph.D. in Social Foundations of Education. He has taught English Composition courses at Western Michigan University, Greenville Technical College, Strayer University, and the University of North Georgia. Mike believes the advisor's role is one of question-specialist, meaning he is here to deal with whatever questions you have, in addition to asking you thoughtful questions to help you figure out what you want out of life.

In Mike's free time he likes to force weird music on his family while cooking above his skill level. He also plays bass and guitar every week at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Athens and is in the local cumbia band Yumbotron.
