Before joining UGA, he was an advisor and English instructor at Strayer University in Greenville, SC. He has also taught English at Western Michigan University, Greenville Technical College, and Gainesville State College. Mike’s Ph.D. research focused on developing a theory of academic advising centered around problematological questioning. In his spare time, he enjoys listening to all varieties of strange music, playing in local bands, and enjoying the company of his family.
