Marilena joined Franklin College as an upper-division Computer Science advisor in 2024. Prior to her current position, she worked in Academic Advising in the Terry College of Business and at American University in Washington, DC. She holds an AB in History from UGA and an MAT in Secondary Education from Georgia College. In her free time, Marilena enjoys listening to a good playlist, enjoying a cup of coffee, and planning her next trip.
Kelsey earned her BA in Psychology with a minor in Fine Arts from Indiana University in 2015. She has held various roles in higher education supporting student success through academic research and programming. Since 2021, Kelsey has been an academic advisor at the University of Colorado and starting in Fall of 2024 she advises upper-division Math and Computer Science students at the University of Georgia. Pedro “Pete” Escamilla joined the Franklin College of Arts and Sciences as an upper-division advisor in 2024.  He earned both a B.A. degree in Political Science and an M.Ed. degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Texas A&M University.  Pete currently advises Computer Science students in the School of Computing.  In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, traveling, and going to concerts.     
Tanacia Blackwell's background is mainly in advising and recruiting, both in higher education and corporate. She holds a Masters in Business Administration from Southern New Hampshire and is an alumni of Georgia. In addition to attending UGA, she also advised students in another college from 2016-2018 and has worked in corporate recruiting for Google.   Heather Gozdan-Bynum received her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Clarinet Performance and Pedagogy from the University of Iowa.
